Fiery Chicken Ramen

A creamy, spicy noodle bowl that combines rich garlic-parmesan sauce with smoky, chili-spiced chicken and ramen noodles.

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into strips
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (for the marinade)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper (for marinade)
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil (for searing)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper (for sauce)
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 packs ramen noodles (discard seasoning packets)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (for tossing noodles)
  • 1/2 cup green onions, sliced
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots (optional, for crunch)
  • 1 soft-boiled egg, halved for topping
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds, for garnish
  • 1 tbsp nori strips, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix marinade: In a bowl combine soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, smoked paprika, chili powder, cayenne, and black pepper. Add chicken strips and toss to coat. Let sit 10 minutes while you prep other ingredients.
  2. Cook chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken in a single layer. Sear for about 5–6 minutes, stirring once or twice until golden and cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside.
  3. Make the sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add minced garlic and sauté 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring constantly. Add salt, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Simmer 2–3 minutes until it slightly thickens. Stir in Parmesan until smooth. Remove from heat.
  4. Cook noodles: Bring a pot of water to a boil. Cook ramen noodles per package directions, usually 2–3 minutes. Drain and toss with sesame oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Assemble bowls: Divide noodles between two bowls. Spoon the creamy garlic-Parmesan sauce over the noodles. Top with fiery chicken, green onions, shredded carrots, and a halved soft-boiled egg. Finish with sesame seeds and nori strips. Serve right away.

Notes

For a lighter sauce, use half-and-half. Adjust spice levels to taste, especially cayenne and red pepper flakes.
