These Greek yogurt bagels are a quick and tangy take on classic bagels, made with just a few pantry staples and thick Greek yogurt.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour or whole wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup thick Greek yogurt
  • 1 large egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • Everything bagel seasoning, sesame, poppy seeds, or coarse salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl until combined. If making cinnamon bagels, add cinnamon here.
  3. Add the Greek yogurt to the dry ingredients and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough briefly in the bowl until smooth and slightly sticky.
  5. Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces.
  6. Roll each piece into a ball, flatten it, and use your thumb to create a hole in the center.
  7. Brush each bagel with the egg wash and sprinkle with toppings.
  8. Bake for 22–25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For dairy-free, substitute with a thick plant-based yogurt and skip the egg wash. Can make cinnamon bagels by adding cinnamon to the dry mix.
