Homemade pepperoni bread packed with zesty pepperoni and gooey cheese, perfect for family gatherings, game day, or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1.5 cups whole milk
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 teaspoon salt
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 6 oz pepperoni (chopped, thin slices preferred)
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (50% Mozzarella, 50% Provolone)
  • 1 teaspoon oregano or Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons butter (optional, for brushing)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste (or 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the whole egg and egg yolk together. Add the milk, sugar, and vegetable oil, mixing until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped pepperoni, shredded cheese, oregano (or Italian seasoning), and garlic if you’re using it.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top. If desired, melt the butter and brush it on top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Slice and serve warm for the best experience!

Notes

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding grated Parmesan cheese on top before baking.
