Delicious Smash Burger Tacos blend crispy-edged beef patties with soft tortillas and classic burger toppings for a fun twist on taco night.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 taco-sized tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or American)
  • 1/2 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1/2 cup tomato, diced
  • 1/4 cup pickles, sliced
  • 1/4 cup onions, diced
  • Ketchup and mustard to taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat until very hot.
  2. Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions and loosely form each into a ball, seasoning lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. Place 2–4 beef balls in the hot skillet and immediately press each ball flat with a spatula to form thin patties. Cook for 3–4 minutes, then flip and cook the other side for another 3–4 minutes.
  4. Warm tortillas in a second skillet or quickly in the microwave until pliable, keeping them covered to stay warm.
  5. Place a cooked patty on each warmed tortilla, sprinkle with cheese, then top with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onions. Drizzle with ketchup and mustard.
  6. Serve immediately on a platter, allowing everyone to assemble their own tacos.

Notes

Keep toppings chilled until ready to maintain freshness. For a twist, add jalapeños or swap ketchup for BBQ sauce.
