A comforting one-skillet meal featuring tender chicken in a rich, cheesy cream sauce with notes of garlic, onion, and chili powder.

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry and season lightly with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Cook the chicken breasts until golden and cooked through, about 6–7 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
  3. Lower the heat and pour the heavy cream into the skillet. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder.
  4. Add shredded cheddar cheese to the cream and stir until melted and smooth.
  5. Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over to coat. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.

Notes

Serve over rice or with tortillas for a versatile meal. The dish can be made ahead and reheated gently on the stovetop.
